Burying the dead after the battle at Buzenval

Christian Brothers bury the dead on a snowy battlefield.

The brothers wore leather belt pouches similar to the one pictured to carry supplies while on the battlefield. The pouch is made of leather and cloth and intended to be worn on a belt.

The Brothers also helped with burying the dead on the battlefield. In this scene, the brothers bury the bodies of dead villagers and soldiers.  They carry the wounded away in an ambulance in the background.

A pouch similar to the one pictured can be seen on the belt of the dead soldier in the left foreground.
