The American front porch
Dublin Core
Title
The American front porch
Subject
The Porche: A symbol of a new American style school to fit Catholics from many countries
Description
Porches are a significant reflection of American life, starting in the Victorian era. Neither Irish, French nor German houses had porches at the time the Academy was built. The creation of a porch for a school in this era is an attempt to create not only an impressive exterior but a chosen better life for the students.
